Getting Fit: To the Core!!
Skating requires use of all the core muscles. Since the extremities attach to the core, stabilization of the core is needed to initiate, perform, and complete skating jumps, spins, spirals, etc.
Many people think doing crunches completes an “abs” workout. NOT!! Certainly, doing proper crunches is part of a core workout. Proper crunches means: supported head, moving the ribs toward the hip bones on the crunch, not the chin toward the neck, pressing the lower spine into the floor, and exhaling with the crunch lift. What? No Black Pants???
Yes, I know. It is hard to comprehend. But Joshua Jewel began with a vision. What if figure skaters wore more trendy skating designs? What if figure skaters wore color? What if they wore clothing accented in gorgeous prints and stretch designer fabric instead of solid on solid?
So with that vision, Joshua Jewel began to research upcoming trends in fashion. What were the hottest designers going to be putting on the runway in 2010? What feminine details could be added to figure skating apparel so that fashion could be an on ice term, not just off ice?

What’s Next??
Long before the initial line launched, the design team at Joshua Jewel was hard at work designing the next phase of pieces. You will be glad to know that the next elements in the line totally coordinate with what you are choosing!
In the upcoming weeks, look for the addition of a tank top. The top is specially designed to go with our sports bra for a smooth seamless fit! It is going to look great with those lace pants or our newest pants (yes, they are amazing!!) and the design of the tank is absolutely hot!
Also coming soon is our gorgeous jacket – it is truly a one of a kind skating jacket and you are gonna love it! It is going to come in our signature colors – Chocolate and Navy – so it looks great with your pants!
What else??? A fabulous practice dress that is simple yet completely unique, elegant and flattering! It will come in several solid colors but is made of our super luxurious practice fabric – If you haven’t tried any of our practice pieces, you are in for a real treat – they feel great!
All of these pieces are in the works as well as other additions to the Sweet Ice line. You asked for it and we are doing it – a modification of our adult size pants, our Sweet Ice practice pant is the cutest ever – no more boring black! And they are designed to coordinate with those adorable Sweet Ice T-shirts! So start now collecting all the colors – my favorites are the ones with the rhinestones!!
